Deep is the third solo studio album by English musician Peter Murphy. Produced by Simon Rogers, the album was released on 19 December 1989 through RCA and Beggars Banquet Records and features contributions from Murphy's backing band, The Hundred Men. The album spawned three singles: "The Line Between the Devil's Teeth (And That Which Cannot Be Repeat)", "Cuts You Up" and "A Strange Kind of Love".

A masterpiece of alt rock and its really not straight ahead rock in the crap blues three chord mindset. Instead this is a very artsy and dynamic album from rock like energy to ambient tone poems sung in delicate melancholy and frailness. Im not a fan of Bauhaus but this album is not punk nor is it stripped down emo alt rock. What you get here is a piece of tone based art with your mind as a canvas to capture the master strokes of its creative muses! I also recommend Murphy's first two albums equally brilliant and NOT anything like Bauhaus!

This album has an average beat per minute of 126 BPM (slowest/fastest tempos: 97/164 BPM). See its BPM profile at the bottom of the page. Album starts at 119BPM, ends at 97BPM (-22), with tempos within the -BPM range. Try refreshing the page if dots are missing). Recent albums by Peter Murphy.

Never really got into Bauhaus, which some may think is a crime, but I do love this album. I discovered it while I stationed in Germany and I can not tell you the number of times I have listened. Marlene Dietrich's Favourite Poem and Crystal Wrists are my two favorite tracks. Wish there were more albums like this one.
Your words, my words. This record is something out of this world.
Good to see this album getting a mention! I also like it a lot, MDFP and the Roll Call tracks in particular.
