Then and Now is a 2004 greatest hits compilation album by The Who released internationally by Polydor Records and by Geffen Records in the United States. It features 18 Who classics and two new tracks-"Real Good Looking Boy" and "Old Red Wine"-which were the first Who originals since "Dig" from Pete Townshend's 1989 album The Iron Man. "Real Good Looking Boy" is a tribute to Elvis Presley, and "Old Red Wine" is a tribute to former band member John Entwistle, who died in 2002.

Greatest hits retrospectives are more than just stocking-fillers; they sell in their millions. A collection of 29 tracks, including then hard-to-find non-album singles and special duets, the former one-half of Wham! scored the biggest selling album of his incredible career with this 1998 set. It was the mist-have Christmas present of that year, staying at Number 1 for eight weeks over the festive period. Robbie Williams' 2004 Greatest Hits just misses out on a Top 10 placing but has still sold . 1 million copies, and Tina Turner's 1991 hits collection Simply The Best has shifted an impressive . 7 million copies. Well, of course the Spice Girls needed a greatest-hits album. They'd need one even if they weren't reuniting for a world tour that is as heavily hyped if not as anticipated as Led Zeppelin's (which of course is just a one-time shot, right?), as they were a singles-oriented group without a singles album in their catalog. And so, 2007's Greatest Hits, which has everything you know plus a few songs you don't and no left-field choices (if you were hoping that "Bumper to Bumper" would gain its rightful place as one of their finest, you're out of luck!).

Greatest Hits is a compilation album by the British rock band Queen, released worldwide on 26 October 1981. The album consisted of Queen's biggest hits since their first chart appearance in 1974 with "Seven Seas of Rhye", up to their 1980 hit "Flash" (though in some countries "Under Pressure", the band's 1981 chart-topper with David Bowie, was included).

Queen’s Greatest Hits is the UK’s biggest selling album of all time – but which song is the greatest? . Queen's Greatest Hits compilation may just be one of the rock world's most perfect collection of songs. More than any other rock band, before or since, Queen were both a great albums band and a great singles band. They could do it all – heavy rock, pop, opera, disco, gospel – and they did it all brilliantly. And the way those early hits were presented on this album was inspired – the breadth of Queen’s scope perfectly illustrated by the way the epic grandeur of Bohemian Rhapsody leads into the disco sizzle of Another One Bites The Dust.

A greatest hits album, sometimes called a "best of" album or a catalog album, is a compilation of songs by a particular artist or band. Most often the track list contains previously released recordings with a high degree of notability. However, to increase the appeal, especially to people who already own the original release, it is common to include remixes or alternate takes of popular songs; sometimes even new material (previously unreleased) will function as bonus tracks. Greatest Hits' was officially awarded 11x Platinum status on 1 January 1992, with Platinum status representing 300,000 copies sold. Apparently, record companies have to pay the BPI to get an award status, and evidently this is something EMI have not done. In February 2014, it was announced that it had become the first album ever to sell 6 million copies in the UK, which would give it an unofficial award status of 20 x Platinum. Storm the master marathon I'll fly through By flash and thunder fire and I'll survive (I'll survive, I'll survive) Then I'll defy the laws of nature (I'll survive, I'll survive) And come out alive (I'll survive, I'll survive) Then I'll get you. Be gone with you, you shod and shady senators Give out the good, leave out the bad evil cries I challenge the mighty Titan and his troubadours And with a smile I'll take you to the seven seas of rhye.
