New album out on the 16th November 2018. MERRIE LAND If you are leaving Please still say goodbye And if you are leaving can you Leave me my Silver Jubilee mug My old flag My dark woods My sunrise. If you are leaving Can you please say goodbye And if you are leaving Can you leave your number I’ll pack my case And get in a cab and wave you goodbye.

Merrie Land is the second album by English alternative rock supergroup The Good, the Bad & the Queen (Damon Albarn, Paul Simonon, Simon Tong and Tony Allen). The album was produced by Tony Visconti and released on 16 November 2018. The band announced the album with the single "Merrie Land" and news that they would embark on a five-date tour of the UK in early December 2018.

Merrie Land is the long-awaited sophomore album by The Good, The Bad & The Queen, released on the 16th of November 2018. The record is their first music in 11 years. In an interview with MOJO, singer Damon Albarn had the following to say about making the album: I went on pilgrimages. Some of them were the sites of quite ancient pilgrimages, like St Albans.

I am the last king Standing on the hill I wear my ribbons white, red, and green I am the visions The night before the fair When you don't want me anymore And you're not there. I am a murder All falling out of the sky I wear my ribbons black until I die I am the dark wood, the river, and the blood I am the lover lost. I am the Maypole Dancing with the sun I only wear my ribbons for you I am the morning With flowers in my hair I am your son and heir.

It's the long-awaited follow-up to the supergroup's 2007 debut album. Check out the video along with tour dates below. Last week, the first information about the long-awaited album from Damon Albarn and co was finally announced – with the new record, titled ‘Merrie Land’, set for a November 16 release.

For all its gloom, Merrie Land is an entertaining and theatrical album, with vocals that capture the social observation of early album Parklife. It’s also an immensely clever feat of word painting, never relying on lyrics alone to reflect the sense of anxiety. He's mined this territory before, notably in Gorillaz's Demon Days, yet the very fact that the Good, The Bad & The Queen function as a band, drawing strength from their own interplay, gives Merrie Land a human resonance that echoes long after the final song ends.

Last week, we learned that the Good, The Bad & The Queen, the supergroup made up of Damon Albarn, the Clash’s Paul Simonon, the Verve’s Simon Tong, and Afrobeat drummer Tony Allen, would be returning with their first album since their 2007 self-titled debut. And now it’s official: Merrie Land will be out next month, 11/16, self-released on the band’s new Studio 13 label. Produced by legendary David Bowie producer Tony Visconti and the band themselves, Merrie Land was written in the shadow of a looming Brexit.

Before they released a record, the Good, the Bad & the Queen first started playing concerts, unveiling their complete album at a series of concerts, culminating with a gig at Camden's Roundhouse just before their debut single, "Herculean," hit the shops. This spooky single appropriately surfaced the day before Halloween in 2006, followed by "Kingdom of Doom" in January 2007. The group didn't return to action until November of 2018, when they released Merrie Land. Produced by Tony Visconti, Merrie Land chronicled Britain during the era of Brexit. Stephen Thomas Erlewine.
