Dave Brubeck – David Warren Dave Brubeck was an American jazz pianist and composer, considered to be one of the foremost exponents of cool jazz. He wrote a number of standards, including In Your Own Sweet Way. Brubecks style ranged from refined to bombastic, reflecting his mothers attempts at classical training and his music is known for employing unusual time signatures, and superimposing contrasting rhythms, meters, and tonalities. Just as The Dave Brubeck Quartet kept on delighting the music world and the wonderful world of jazz during the 1960’s, the great jazz pianist- composer would pay an essential and divine tribute to Cole Porter with this breezy standard album from 1966 that became another ‘standard’ hit for the Brubeck Quartet.
