Still Got the Blues is the eighth solo studio album by Northern Irish guitarist Gary Moore, released in 1990. It marked a substantial change in style for Moore, who, prior to this album, was predominantly known for rock and hard rock music with Skid Row, Thin Lizzy, G-Force, Greg Lake and during his own extensive solo career, as well as his jazz-fusion work with Colosseum II. As evidenced by its title, Still Got the Blues saw him delve into an electric blues style.

Gary Moore was touring across Europe promoting his latest album After The War, his fifth rock album for Virgin since 1982’s Corridors Of Power. Sales and profile were growing with each album, culminating in Wild Frontier in 1987. But the new album hadn’t done so well and Gary was tiring of the 1980s rock treadmill; the emphasis on soulless fret-melting guitar, big hair and looking serious in daft pop videos. He realised, too, that he was repeating himself as a songwriter. The original tour was only scheduled to run a few weeks, but as the single Still Got The Blues and the album began to climb the charts all over the world, the tour just grew. For Airey, Moore was absolutely on fire: His playing was unbelievable on that tour, just unbelievable. Sometimes I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.

Still Got the Blues is a 1990 album by guitarist Gary Moore. Prior to this album Moore's work had consisted of predominantly jazz-fusion with Colosseum II and rock and hard rock styles including his work with Skid Row, Thin Lizzy, G-Force as well as a large repertoire of solo work. This album, as evidenced by its title, is a departure from hard rock to an electric blues style.

So there it is, Gary Moore's classic blues album, 'Still Got The Blues'. This album is brilliant for 2 reasons: Firstly, Gary Moore makes brilliant blues music, and his talented guitar work means he can translate his powerful rock solos and riffs and put them into a traditional blues format, creating some masterful and original blues-rock, and secondly, this album expresses some very diverse moods, from the triumphant highs, to the depressing lows, which makes. for a perfect all-round blues-rock masterpiece, however your feeling, it can be optimistic or sorrowful

The blues-album Still Got The Blues 1990 of (hard) rocker Gary Moore became a huge success, not least by the chart success of the single released on title number. The cd is now available again, completely digitally remastered and features five bonus tracks.
