En Direct de L'Olympia was the first album released by French singer Mireille Mathieu after her television amateur contest success in November 1965, and debut performance at the Paris Olympia in December. The arrangements and musical direction for this album were provided by the orchestra leader and composer Paul Mauriat. Together with songwriter André Pascal, they contributed Mon credo, Pourquoi mon amour and Viens dans ma rue.

Mireille Mathieu (French: ; born 22 July 1946) is a French singer. Mireille Mathieu was born on 22 July 1946 in Avignon, France, the eldest daughter of a family of fourteen children; the youngest brother was born after she moved to Paris. Her father Roger and his family were native to Avignon, while her mother Marcelle-Sophie (née Poirier) was from Dunkirk

In 1969, "Mireille Mathieu, en direct de l'Olympia" was the record that introduced me to this amazing voice. My then-father-in-law loved it so much that I gave the album to him in 1971. I really like her other albums, and have a couple of collections: "Son Grand Numero" and "Chante Piaf" (both of which are excellent). Some will find this somewhat sacrilegious to say, but in my opinion Céline Dion is currently the top voice of chanson française (though technically it would be "chanson canadienne-française").
