A list of the best rock albums from 1966. In a way, 1965 was the nascent start of the classic-rock era, that moment when the rock 'n' roll single yielded its power to the album format. But 1966 is when it all started to make sense. The following list of 1966's Best Rock Albums is almost equally divided between veteran acts (well, as veteran as rock 'n' roll bands could be in 1966, so we're talking a period of two to three years) and new artists sprung from the shadows of their predecessors.
Smartly presented and written with enthusiasm and insight, Psychedelia 101 Iconic Underground Rock Albums 1966-1970 offers page after page of fun and fascination. Whether you’re a novice or an original fan of these trippy tunes, here’s a book begging for your attention.
Jesus Christ Superstar is a rock opera created by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber in 1970 Bob Dylan With The Grateful Dead - Unauthorised Live Vo. (1993) Bootleg. They later covered Canned Heat too, on their 1977 LP 'On The Road Again' (1977), which was released in a large number of countries. The American release was on the Tom n'Jerry label. Their influences ranged pretty far beyond Ziggy-era Bowie and Krautrock-although that was clearly all part of the mix, too. By this time, they had developed more of a pop/New Wave sound and outfits that appeared to borrow rather flagrantly from Ace Frehley’s Spaceman look. But they had also perfected a highly entertaining live show that featured lots of robot dance moves and a scary, bazooka-like device with which lead singer Christian Le Bartz could shower the audience with sparks.
