Dominique Visse (born 30 August 1955) is a French countertenor and founder of the Ensemble Clément Janequin. Dominique Visse was a chorister in the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris and studied organ and flute at the Versailles Conservatory. As a musician, he developed an interest in Medieval and Renaissance repertories. After studying with Alfred Deller and René Jacobs from 1976 to 1978, he made his opera debut at Tourcoing in Monteverdi's L'incoronazione di Poppea in 1982.
Au bois de deuil Claudin de Sermisy; Ensemble Clément Janequin; Trio Musica Humana. Fantasie en cinq parts sur "Une jeune Fillette". With all the delicacy bestowed on them by their humour and their talent, Dominique Visse and his Ensemble Clément Janequin juxtapose various aspects of the feast of Christmas, from sacred vocal pieces to parodies with bawdy texts, alongside the young Trio Musica Humana. 8. kHz, 24-bit PCM - Alpha Studio Masters
Clément Janequin (c. 1485 in Châtellerault, near Poitiers – 1558 in Paris) was a French composer of the Renaissance. He was one of the most famous composers of popular chansons of the entire Renaissance, and along with Claudin de Sermisy, was hugely influential in the development of the Parisian chanson, especially the programmatic type. The wide spread of his fame was made possible by the concurrent development of music printing.
