By the time of Pussycat, on which Vee has largely dropped her original singing voice in favor of a hoarse, shouty style that's far less appealing, the Charms are not much more than an amalgam of garage rock revival clichés, and Vee's lyrics and vocals are reduced to fanboy fantasy-stokers like "Rock and Roll Magazine" and "Dream," with little of. the wit and heart of her earlier songs.

Pussycat was a Dutch country and pop group led by the three Kowalczyk sisters: Toni, Betty and Marianne. Other members of the band were Lou Willé (Toni's then-husband), Theo Wetzels, Theo Coumans, and John Theunissen. Their song "Mississippi" was a hit in most European countries, including the UK, in 1975/76. Prior to forming the band, the three sisters were telephone operators in Limburg, whilst Theunissen, Wetzles and Coumans were in a group called Scum.

Faster Pussycat is the first album by the band of the same name. The album reached on the Billboard 200 chart. Videos were made for several of the songs on the album, including Don't Change That Song, which had a video directed by Russ Meyer. The band performed Cathouse and Bathroom Wall in the film The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years, and they were interviewed in the segment as well.
