After Frank Zappa broke up the Mothers of Invention, he recorded and performed under his own name before re-forming the group. This release documents part of a concert at Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles, with Zappa leading a sensational quintet.
Francesco Zappa is a 1984 album by Frank Zappa. It features chamber music by the Italian composer Francesco Zappa, who composed between 1763 and 1788. David Ocker played a piece of Francesco Zappa's music for Frank Zappa because it was popular with some college music students.
Frank Zappa’s second solo album and first album following the breakup of The Mothers Of Invention is a swirling showcase of complete mastery over psychedelic music. With only one track featuring vocals ( Willie The Pimp ), Hot Rats proved to be more a successful experiment rather an album. While much of it consists of eery instrumental transitions and searing guitar solos, songs like It Must Be A Camel are on the jazzier side, showing Zappa’s consistent strength in versatility, and his chameleon-like ability to blend into any musical landscape.
Hot Rats is the second solo album by Frank Zappa. It was released in October 1969. Five of the six songs are instrumental; the other, Willie the Pimp, features vocals by Captain Beefheart. It was Zappa’s first recording project after the dissolution of the original Mothers of Invention. In his original sleeve notes Zappa described the album as a movie for your ears. Frank Vincent Zappa (December 21, 1940 – December 4, 1993) was an American musician, composer, activist and filmmaker.

Lumpy Gravy saw him conducting an orchestra, while Cruising with Ruben and the Jets fulfilled his interests in doo-wop. Hot Rats, meanwhile, shows off Zappa's unorthodox approach to jazz and blues. Willie the Pimp," with Captain Beefheart wailing away as Howlin' Wolf, is an epic jam, with Zappa turning in one of his dirtiest performances on record
