all the creeps So she can tell the stories to the girls back home She went to the city and got so so so ditty She had to get a pimp, she couldnt make it on her Own. Chorus: Its like a jungle sometimes, it makes me wonder How I keep from goin under. My brothers doing fast on my mothers.

As for the cover: This hip hop classic was shot on the corner of Fredrick Douglas Blvd and 123rd Street just two blocks away from the Apollo Theater in Harlem. Ironically, with the exception of Melle Mel, no other members featured on the cover had a major role on the album. The Message Q&A. Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five Greatest Hits. Overview (current section). The New Adventures Of Grandmaster - Grandmaster Melle Mel & The Furious Five. Set track as current obsession.

The Message (Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five song). The Message" is a song by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. It was released as a single by Sugar Hill Records on July 1, 1982 and was later featured on the group's first studio album, The Message

Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five merged the Afrocentric consciousness expressed by such early rappers as Gil Scott-Heron and the Last Poets with b-boy production to create "The Message," an all-time rap anthem. It was the focal point of this LP, which also included "It's Nasty" and "Scorpio," two other strong cuts that might have been winners on their own. Unfortunately, rather than a starting point, this album proved to be their ultimate peak.

Notes

Erratum:-
Track 10 is titled on the release as the previously unknown "The Adventures Of Grandmaster Himself" and credited to Grandmaster Flash. The liner notes describe the track as being the intended follow-up to "The Adventures Of Grandmaster Flash On The Wheels of Steel" and as only appearing "20 years later on a compilation".
This is totally incorrect. The actual track is the un-faded "The New Adventures Of Grandmaster" that originally closed the album 'Grandmaster Melle Mel and the Furious Five' (aka 'Work Party'), being composed by Melvin Glover (Melle Mel) and the Furious Five. As such it had no involvement from Grandmaster Flash at all and was actually released in 1984.
