The Little Girl Found is a poem written by the English poet William Blake. It was published as part of his collection Songs of Experience in 1794. In the poem, the parents of a seven-year-old girl, called Lyca, are looking desperately for their young daughter who is lost in the desert. During days and nights they go on looking for the girl up to the moment they find a lion which tells them where the child lies.

Album Songs of Experience. The Litle Girl Lost Lyrics. In futurity I prophesy That the earth from sleep (Grave the sentence deep) Shall arise, and seek For her Maker meek; And the desert wild Become a garden mild. While the lioness Loosed her slender dress, And naked they conveyed To caves the sleeping maid. About The Litle Girl Lost. This is the first poem in a two part series about tough love. It’s a tough love that is not expressed between two individuals, but rather a demanding grace from life/evolution to those who are surviving. The first half of this poem introduces the little girl Lyca, who has pretty much never had a bad day in her life (references anyone who’s had a sheltered upbringing).

The Little Girl Found - Imagery, symbolism and themes. His loving look inspires in her the same terror that the ‘holy book' evokes. Given the context of love in a garden, the image of wanderers evokes Adam and Eve.

A little boy cannot keep up with his father, so he cries out for the older man to slow down or speak to him so he can find his way. No one answers and the darkness rolls in, so the boy begins to weep. In the companion poem, God hears the little boy’s weeping and appears to him in the image of his father dressed in white. He leads the boy home to his mother, whom the boy greets with weeping. Both The Little Boy Lost and The Little Boy Found are two-stanza poems composed of two quatrains
