The Crusade is the third studio album by heavy metal band Trivium. Released on October 10, 2006 through Roadrunner Records. It is considered a drastic change from their previous album Ascendancy by some critics. The Crusade peaked at number 7 and was certified silver in for sales in excess of 60,000 copies in the United Kingdom. Felder's "Look Beyond the Hill" could have been an instrumental dub version of something from the first Steely Dan album and has real resemblance in tone, texture, and tune to "Dirty Work. But the real surprise here is Stix Hooper's "Journey From Within. It's an Eastern-tinged modal groove with Carlton's guitar stinging in the middle around Sample's acoustic piano and Felder's loping bassline that becomes the pulse of the track.

While as a keyboard player I was familiar with Joe Sample, and though I knew a bit about Wilton Felder on sax and Larry Carlton on guitar, I am most blown away by Wayne Henderson on trombone and the rhythm section of 'Stix' Hooper and Chuck Rainey. Crusade is the fourth album and third studio album by the British blues rock band John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, released on 1 September 1967 on Decca Records. It was the follow-up to A Hard Road, also released in 1967. As with their two previous albums, Crusade was produced by Mike Vernon.
