A coconut husk is the rough exterior shell of a coconut . The process employed to husk a coconut at home is relatively straightforward. All that is required is a fresh coconut and a long stick sharpened to a point at one end. The opposite end of the stick must be firmly planted into the ground, with the sharpened end pointing straight up. This creates the basic framework for removing the husk. To begin the husking, the individual should grasp the coconut firmly with both hands and slam the body onto the sharpened point of the stick. This action will help to pierce the coconut husk and lift up a small section of the outer husk
How to husk a coconut.

Coconut Syrup is a sweetened, coconut-flavoured, opaque white syrup used in mixed drinks and in desserts, or as in Hawaii, used on pancakes and waffles. It is usually made from sugar, water, creamed coconut, citric acid and preservatives. It can be made in a variety of ways. It can be a sugar syrup flavoured with coconut extract flavour (either natural or artificial. For use over pancakes, a small amount of butter is added. also made from coconut milk, desiccated coconut and sugar, simmered, then puréed in a blender. There is also a recipe that calls for 1 part white sugar, 1 part corn syrup, 1 part cream (regular cream, as in milk), and 1 teaspoon of coconut extract or just coconut milk and sugar. The sugar various recipes call for may be white sugar, brown sugar or icing sugar, or light corn syrup. Commercial brands include Monin Sirop de Coco and Torani.
1 (14 ounce) can coconut milk, 1 cup flaked coconut, 3/4 cup brown sugar. In a heavy saucepan, combine coconut cream, flaked coconut and brown sugar. Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer, and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Transfer to a blender, and puree until smooth.
Mix through the coconut, flour and milk with a wooden spoon until smooth. Pour into a 20cm-square cake tin lined with non-stick baking paper and bake for 40 minutes or until cooked when tested with a skewer. Cool cake in tin. To make the lemon syrup, combine the sugar, water and lemon juice in a saucepan over medium heat and stir until dissolved. Simmer for 5 minutes or until thickened slightly. Pour over warm or cool cake. Easy and quick to put together, the syrup helped keep it moist, loved the flavour the coconut added to the crust. I simmered the syrup for an 5 minutes to thicken it a bit more and added a tsp of grated rind to the syrup too. When I make this next time I will reduce the amount of water in the syrup. I also sliced some lemon really thin and candied it in a pan with about a tablespoon of the syrup and a tiny pinch of salt, and placed them on top.
