The discography of Muse, an English rock band, consists of eight studio albums, two live albums, one compilation album, five extended plays (EPs), 41 singles, two video albums, 59 music videos and four other appearances. Formed in Teignmouth, Devon in 1994, the band signed with Mushroom Records in the United Kingdom and Maverick Records in the United States before releasing their debut album Showbiz in 1999.

La Muse is an artists' community located in Labastide Esparbairenque, France. It is a manor house in a small village in the mountains, 25 minutes drive from Carcassonne. It is in the Cathar region. The residence offers retreats to artists and writers working in fiction, non-fiction, musical composition, painting, performance art, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and video, choreography, film, as well as crafts and arts.

Muse signed to Maverick Records and released their debut album, Showbiz, in 1999, showcasing Bellamy's falsetto and a melancholic alternative rock style. Their second album, Origin of Symmetry (2001), incorporated wider instrumentation and romantic classical influences, and earned them a reputation for energetic live performances. Absolution (2003) saw further classical influence, with orchestra on tracks such as "Butterflies and Hurricanes", and became the first of five consecutive UK number-one albums.
