Bredemeyer (born 2nd February, 1929, in Vélez, Columbia - died 5th December, 1995, in Berlin) was a German composer.

German composer and conductor (4 March 1939, Weißwasser - 8 August 2009, Halle/Saale).

Bredemeyer died in Berlin. His grave is at Cemetery Pankow III, where many renown German artists are buried. His oeuvre includes more than 600 works (of which around 300 are for theatre, film and audio drama), many of which have still not been performed in concert. The composers of his generation (Friedrich Goldmann, Georg Katzer und Friedrich Schenker) broke with socialist realism and closed the gap to western Avant-garde music. Academy of Arts of the GDR.

If you get hold of a copy of this oldie, check out the very last track. It's five years older than everything else here and someone clearly saved it up for a special occasion. It's not 'vocal with trio accompaniment'. Not exactly jazz, not ordinarily classical; it's something else!
