Thousands of Miles Between Us is a live album and video by American metalcore band Converge. It was released on November 27, 2015 through Deathwish Inc. record label. The Blu-Ray set was described by Deathwish as "the long-awaited sequel to their 2003 DVD, The Long Road Home. The trailer contained two songs from the album/video; "Concubine" and "Dark Horse"

Miles Between Us were a straight edge hardcore band from Ottawa, Canada. Beginning in 1998 as From This Day Forward, the band aimed to bring classic style hardcore to a scene that was well known for its emo leanings. Nathan Simpson (guitar) and Matt Laforge (vocals) recruited Matt Ford (bass), formerly of Sumo Grimace and Adam Solomonian, who had previously played in various local hardcore and punk bands. The band soon began to prepare for its full length release, which was originally planned to be with Blatherskyte again. After recording the album, there were some complications with Blatherskyte, and Thinkfast Records displayed interest in releasing the full length, When It Counts. By the time of the release, Ford and Simpson had left the band, leaving the others to carry on as a 4-piece, with Shaun Morris taking over on bass duties.

Straight edge (sometimes abbreviated as sXe or signified by XXX or X) is a subculture originated from hardcore punk whose adherents refrain from using alcohol, tobacco and other recreational drugs, in reaction to the excesses of punk subculture. For some, this extends to refraining from engaging in promiscuous sex, following a vegetarian or vegan diet or not using caffeine or prescription drugs. The term straight edge was adopted from the 1981 song "Straight Edge" by the hardcore punk band Minor Threat.

Title: Miles Between Us (2017). The only part that I find a bit awkward is the scenes between the daughter and a film star her dad's pursuing for his film. Overall though, it's a well- crafted and well-acted Minnesota-made indie drama that should appeal to teens, families and the faithful communities. Props to writer/producer Scott Peterson and director Andrew Hunt, it's a lovely little story of pain, hope, healing, and redemption.

The straight edge movement was a direct reaction to the sexual revolution, hedonism, and excess associated with early punk rock. For some, this extends to not engaging in promiscuous sex, following a vegetarian or vegan diet, and not using caffeine or prescription drugs. Of course, one does not have to be in a punk band to be straight edge-anyone who follows all of the above listed rules can be straight edge. In fact, there are also straight edge rappers and other types of musicians, as well as the punk rock non-smoking and sober celebs

Straight Edge Lyrics. I'm a person just like you But I've got better things to do Than sit around and fuck my head Hang out with the living dead Snort white shit up my nose Pass out at the shows I don't even think about speed That's something I just don't need. I've got the straight edge

Life's pretty hard without you having to be edge by yourself.

Straight edge punks and metalheads were vocally opposed to drug and alcohol addiction, and their movement was young, trendy, and filled with sober role models. While today’s straight edge revolution in hip-hop is a lot quieter than its historical precedent, it’s powerful for the same reasons. Young listeners rightfully see Yachty as a peer. If anything, the fun-loving spirit of Yachty and gritty realism of Vince makes the straight-edge drug-free pill easier for some listeners to swallow. If every song on every Vince album read like a . advertisement, he wouldn’t have the following he does, and he wouldn’t be in the position he is today to positively affect listeners simply by vocally embracing his own sobriety. The mere fact that some of the trendiest rappers amongst young hip-hop listeners are sober and happy to talk about it is huge for the culture.
