Straight Dope Message Board. Instead of having towers everywhere for cell phones, why do they not have Satellites run all cell phone signals? Is it too expensive? Too technical? Because I remember reading about 8 years ago that there was a cell phone coming out that uses satellites instead of a tower to get it's signal and they said you would get a signal no matter where you are in the country. Then, I never heard anymore about it. So, why is there not a Verizon satellite network?

Satan’s Satellites 1958. Feature version of the 1952 serial "Zombies of the Stratosphere. Alien invaders plan to use a Hydrogen bomb to blast Earth out its orbit so Mars can replace it.

Title: Satan's Satellites (1958). Satan's Satellites," like its 1958 companion feature "Missile Monsters," was derived of footage from a Republic serial, in this case 1952's "Zombies of the Stratosphere," showcasing the famed Rocket Man costume introduced in 1949's "King of the Rocket Me. As in "Flying Disc Man from Mars," the villains are Martians that look like humans, whose only recourse to save their world lies in blasting the earth off its orbit, and sending it out into space.
