Led Zeppelin are inarguably one of the greatest live bands of all time, but unlike almost all of their peers, they never put any energy into putting together a great live album. The only live release during their original run is The Song Remains the Same, a soundtrack to their 1976 movie that mixes fantasy sequences with footage from their 1973 run at Madison Square Garden. This was the end of a very long and exhausting tour, and the band was simply not at their best. The album originally received a mix reaction and they played very few of the songs live. But in latter years, fans recognized that tunes like "For Your Life" and "Hots on for Nowhere" are underrated gems. Led Zeppelin IV firmly established Led Zeppelin as the biggest and best band of the 1970s, and during a long and triumphant tour in support of the disc, they began writing songs for the follow-up.
Best Led Zeppelin Albums. Nickname No compliation or live albums, just the 9 studio albums. The Top Ten. 1 Led Zeppelin IV. Was going to vote for Physical Graffiti but this one edges it out slightly, though not because of Stairway to Heaven (which is still an amazing song): 1. Black Dog- Lyrics are kind of basic in my opinion, but I enjoy the song's structure and instrumentation. 4. Stairway to Heaven- Another example of fine structural build-up, though since I'm a softy the first four minutes of the song are what I enjoy the most. Top 10 in songs ever composed.

Endorphin-rush rock’n’roll: remastered, relentless, essentialAs Zeppelin fans of all creeds and nations prepare to make the pilgrimage to London’s O2 arena on 26 November, it may not have escaped their notice that the reunited, hot-ticket, must-see Zep are about to attempt something truly precarious. Straight to the point, Mothership is the Zep album I’ll be playing relentlessly from now on. Without dwelling too much on the audiophile aspects, because remastering isn’t an obsession with everybody, a significant increase in power and clarity is instantly apparent, particularly on headphones, making almost every track a revelation for anybody who wants to listen.
Fantastic album my favourite led zeppelin album. Every song on this track is fantastic with great rock sound and great guitar music. Really enjoyed listening to this one many thanks. I've wanted some Led Zeppelin tracks for a while and this was a good inexpensive way of getting all the ones that I wanted. I love their earlier stuff. Some of the later stuff is a bit dodgy.

In the late 1960s, Led Zeppelin was doomed to fail. As the story goes, the name came from a running joke between the musicians that their band would go down like a lead balloon. While Rolling Stone is not wrong that this debut record is largely a complete rip-off of a number of blues standards, the album did establish the musical prowess of Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones, and John Bonham. 1. Led Zeppelin IV (1971).
Led Zeppelin II was one of the first records I ever bought with my own money. I would argue in favor for Led Zeppelin 2; it’s considered their heaviest album, and influenced so many great hard rock acts that were to emerge in the future. Led Zeppelin 2 incorporated blues and folk music elements, and showed how they could merge their blues-derived material with that signature guitar riff-based sound they were famous for.
