A note: since this album has only been out for a couple of hours (or at least I've only known of it's release for a couple of hours), so this is based on a first listen. Mayday Parade has always been a strange case for me. They were a highly acclaimed pop punk band (which is a genre I listen to too much) with their first album "A Lesson In Romantics". From what I've heard about them, every other album from them is apparently not great, because a key member on their debut left after it's release.

Don’t blame Mayday Parade for being unable to escape the shadow of former front man Jason Lancaster (who, incidentally, recently released the first proper full-length with his new band, Go Radio). It’s not that the acoustic takes on Jamie All Over and Your Song are unlistenable, it’s just that some things are better left alone . If nothing else, Valdosta should be enough to hold over fans until the new album is released. Mayday Parade Punk Acoustic. 5.
