It is the second album released after the Mothers disbanded in 1969, preceded by Burnt Weeny Sandwich. In contrast to its predecessor, which almost entirely focused on studio recordings of arranged compositions, Weasels Ripped My Flesh consists of a combination of live and studio recordings and features more improvisation.

Artist: The Mothers of Invention. Tracks: You Didn’t Try to Call Me, I’m Not Satisfied, I'm Not Satisfied, I Ain’t Got No Heart, You’re Probably Wondering Why I’m Here, You're Probably Wondering Why I'm Here, Who Are the Brain Police?, Trouble Every Day, Help, I’m a Rock, Go Cry on Somebody Else's Shoulder, Hungry Freaks, Daddy, Wowie Zowie, Any Way the Wind Blows, The Return of the Son of Monster Magnet, Motherly Love, How Could I Be Such a Fool?, The Return of the Son of Monster Magnet, Any Way the Wind Blows.
The second half shows where his sympathies lie, with character sketches of Zappa's real-life freak acquaintances, a carefree utopia in "Take Your Clothes Off When You Dance," and the strident, unironic protest "Mother People. Regardless of how dark the subject matter, there's a pervasively surreal, whimsical flavor to the music, sort of like Sgt. Pepper as a creepy nightmare
