In November, Blood Orange appeared on the cover of The Fader in its 89th issue On 8 January 2014, it was announced that Blood Orange was on the line-up for Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California  . On 19 July 2018, Hynes announced his fourth studio album under the Blood Orange moniker, Negro Swan, and released in the following week its first two singles: "Charcoal Baby" and "Jewelry". The album was released on 24 August 2018. On June 25, 2019, Hynes announced his fifth album under the Blood Orange moniker in an interview with Cultured Magazine

Palo Alto is a 2013 American drama film written and directed by Gia Coppola, based on James Franco's 2010 short story collection of the same name. Teddy (Jack Kilmer) and his best friend Fred (Nat Wolff), are two stoner teenagers. April (Emma Roberts) is at soccer practice when her friends laugh about their coach Mr. B (James Franco) having a crush on April

Blood Orange's Devonté Hynes provided the score to the debut film from director Gia Coppola, and he also appears on the film's original soundtrack alongside Tonsstartssbandht, Rooney lead singer Robert Schwartzman, and Jason Schwartzman's Coconut Records project. But it'd be unfair to expect Blood Orange mastermind Dev Hynes' score to Palo Alto to replicate last year's Cupid Deluxe; the latter was Hynes’ portrayal of outcasts in a pop setting, the inverse of Palo Alto’s gauzily-shot coterie of mopey high school A-listers. I went into my viewing experience of Palo Alto having no idea Hynes was responsible for the score, which is barely noticable throughout the film

Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes is in high demand these days, with everyone from Solange to Sky Ferreira to Kindness tapping his songwriting and production skills. His latest project is the soundtrack to Palo Alto, a movie adaptation of a short story collection by actor and self-styled polymath James Franco. Listen below and tune into Hynes’ recent see what FACT’s Chris Kelly made of the recent Blood Orange album, Cupid Deluxe.
