The complete legendary and inimitable Sun Ra album Angels and Demons at Play (El Saturn 407). As a bonus, the LPs Sound Sun Pleasure!! (El Saturn 512) and We Travel the Space Ways (El Saturn 409) in their entirety, as well as a rare song from the same sessions which first appeared as a single. Includes 12-page booklet. Either you dig the leader of The Solar Myth Arkestra, or you cannot understand The Purpose of When. This specific artifact of Sun's output is a virtual sampler of his many moods. The music is challenging; the performers and performances excellent; the sound quality pristine; and the value amazing. If you are a devotee, then this is a no brainer. If you are curious, then this is a good place to be introduced to the multi-faceted child of the universe that was Sun Ra. You get straight jazz, standards, and experimental musics. Value and Variety, a perfect combination.
