The concept behind Blues at Sunrise is a good one: collect ten of SRV's best slow blues numbers, primarily from the official studio albums but also a couple of unreleased cuts and rarities, and sequence them as if they were a lost studio album. It's a neat idea, especially when it's packaged in artwork that deliberately evokes memories of classic blues albums from the '60s (there's even a fake, faded record ring on the front and back covers), and it's hard to fault the music here. Still, some fans may complain, since this is the first posthumous release that feels as if it's trying to trick the hardcore into purchasing music they already have. That's a legitimate complaint, because there are only two songs that the hardcore won't have, and they very well may not want to sink down dollars for something that's just a reconfiguration of familiar tunes.

Strange Times is the fifteenth album by the rock band The Moody Blues, released in 1999. This was the last Moody Blues album to feature longtime flautist and vocalist Ray Thomas. English Sunset" (Justin Hayward) - 5:05. Haunted" (Hayward) - 4:31.
And on "White Trash Blues", the genre's legends come thick and fast. Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Chuck Berry and Billy Boy Arnold are all afforded a unique QUIREBOYS makeover. Never has Spike sounded so authentic and the band so audibly confident. The album came together very organically but they are songs everyone has played at different times over the years and they feel like they're part of our history," said guitarist Paul Guerin. We didn't just want to do carbon copies of these great old songs but at the same time we wanted to pay due respect to the people behind the songs," said Weir. I think we've managed to strike the right balance.
